Hey everyone, the Nintendo Direct was held earlier and content from Castlevania was revealed including characters, a new stage, and music.

While showing the stages bosses, they did reveal that Medusa will be in the game and appear as a boss on the Castlevania stage. While we don't get to see her in action, she shows up briefly here:

Also near the beginning in a cutscene at 0:38.

While nothing is confirmed, it looks like we can definitely expect petrification in this game! Let's hope the effect is good!  Grin

Be on the lookout for demos or early access footage of this stage!

I'm hyped for that potential, and hope they don't rely solely on the Castlevania 1 theme because technically, Medusa didn't have petrification abilities in that game, not until...4, maybe even 3. But with Richter in the game, maybe they might bring that in to make Medusa more a "hazard" rather than a head floating around lol.

Looking forward to what'll occur!

Unfortunately, there is no petrification effect in this game. Sad
Medusa from Castlevania is in the game but just floats around and does nothing to the fighters.

The freeze and metal effects are about the same except the metal effect now gradually transforms the fighters instead of it happening instantly. This allows for some great screenshots, for example:

I have a video of the freezes but once again nothing really new except updated graphics:

I kind of figured as much for Medusa, they'd purely rely on the Castlevania 1 model. Which is a shame, HD stone textures would have cool to see on the characters. But at least there's always the metal effect to count on. But still, thanks for the effort of recording footage and taking screenshots!

There's also a Gold Transformation. Characters can turn Gold by collecting 100 coins on the Golden Plains stage or by summoning the Pokemon Xerneas from a Pokeball.

If anyone could actually get screenshots of the Gold form that would be great.
