I've never seen anyone discuss Divinity Original Sins 2 in this site, but this game has amazing Petrifications. The petrification remains permanent until you end your turn or the petrified unit moves again and there are many npcs that you can petrify. I made a video demonstrating the effect in a room where a tomb petrifies you in act 2. This is an outstanding game and I would recommend you guys check it out. By the way, this is my channel and here is a link to the video:

Hey, that reminds me of when I came across this video a few months back.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pfFnnbiie4

I always thought it was just a one-off video of "Hey, here's a neat freeze that happens in this game," and I never questioned what that game was as there was nothing in the description, and I never found much related to it after. The UI for that game looks pretty similar to Divinity Original Sin 2 one, which has me think it's either the first game or the second game with a refined UI update. Mystery solved!  Wink

Seeing this game, yeah, I'm surprised I never seen more coverage of that petrification. It has a good stone texture, the effect of it being applied on the character looks great with stone erupting then being applied to the character, and you can look from all sort of angles. Maybe because the poses are limited, but still, that's great to see brought up and have a thorough video about it, good stuff!

I'm so glad there's something like this. I like how the statues look very much, so I definitely knew it should be on the ASFR Wiki. I'm happy to announce another page I've made:

Some more good work! And a nice gif of showing off two petrifications at once, that's nice efficiency. Grin

Thanks for the feedback, that kind of GIF was something I wanted to do for a while but I'm at least satisfied to see how it turned out in the end.

The petrification from that tomb is actually a special variety that lasts forever, unlike the petrification inflicted in battles. You are free to leave your unwitting companion there for eternity after petrifying them (you can even remove them from the party although it's a bit immersion breaking since you have "talk" to their statue to dismiss them).
