I have some spare time this Christmas. Do you want me to teach you how to do them?

We can chat using e-mail or PM in this forum. Let me know if you're interested.

Well, I'm betting others here have far better tips but I found these:

http://www.absolutecross.com/tutorials/photoshop/effects/stone-effect/
http://www.photoshopwebsite.com/photoshop-tutorials/35-statue-or-stone-effect-photoshop-tutorials/ this one looks quite useful, it's a big list of tutorials it seems.

I actually wrote up a tutorial for Anime Manips a couple of years ago, you can still find it here:

I've seen other guides for this over the years, but they're all in Japanese.

FSF does the best Photo Manips I've ever seen, and gave some advice on the process in this thread:

Thanks...  Smiley Although I think medieval_wizard is better than me on this subject.

Anyway, Knite_O, the basics are pretty easy to do. Making a selection, desaturating the image and applying a texture can be done in 2 minutes. The details are what make a manip great. And so, there are lots of things you have to think about: choosing the right picture and texture; readjusting the lights to make the victim look like a statue; working with the eyes, clothes and hair...

That's why I told you to send me some PMs about this subject, since there are very few general tips, most of the advices should be done about specific pics...
